Platform: Shopify Problem: The goal was to redesign the US website for a high-end golf simulator brand to deliver a better overall user experience and elevate the premium brand feel. While the brand targeted a knowledgeable, golf-obsessed demographic willing to invest in quality, the existing site didn’t reflect this level of polish or sophistication. Process: We began by carefully evaluating the existing site and identifying pain points. The dark background made content hard to read and created an overly heavy visual tone, which didn’t align with the premium positioning of the brand. Typography felt generic, and key product visuals lacked context, which meant users couldn’t fully appreciate the immersive experience the simulator offered. To solve this, we introduced a clean, white background to improve readability and bring a sense of modernity and polish. 3D renders (produced by an external agency) were incorporated to visually anchor the product within realistic home environments, giving users a clear sense of scale and functionality. We also introduced new lifestyle imagery and recommended a more elevated photography style for the final site, helping to add warmth and a human element to the user experience. From a brand perspective, we worked to inject more personality into the design through playful, niche-targeted messaging like “Big for the obsessed, by the obsessed.” Visually, we used a series of precision-based dot elements as a consistent design motif across headers, banners, and content sections, reinforcing the brand’s focus on accuracy. We also made smart use of the brand’s signature yellow, layering it in different opacities to introduce contrast and texture while keeping the layout visually cohesive. Functionally, we improved the site’s structure by incorporating intuitive ecommerce design patterns like tabbed content blocks, allowing users to easily digest detailed product information. The product comparison experience was also refined to better guide users through their decision-making process, further supporting conversions. Output: The final design delivered a site that felt distinctly premium and highly considered—true to the brand’s elevated positioning, but still approachable and informative. Visually, the site now communicates precision and performance, with a modern layout that feels both technical and refined. The inclusion of 3D renders and human-focused imagery added a much-needed sense of realism and immersion, giving users a stronger sense of what ownership would feel like. By maintaining flexibility within Shopify’s limitations, we ensured the site could be implemented smoothly by the development team while still delivering a unique, branded experience. The end result is a site that supports both education and conversion, showcasing the product in a way that feels elevated, immersive, and user-first.
